Towards strategies for responding to the Risks Associated with Climate Change and other Hazard


Adaptation and DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction) are now being debated at policy, academic, Media and public level globally. To understand the association of Adaptation or Disaster Risk Reduction to the impact of Climate Change this report contributes a knowledge base that describes how the climate systems are changing as a result of human interventions and global climate scenario. This Report depicts some initial understandings from Methodological investigation and field studies that largely search the link between DRR and Adaptation to climate change in different eco stressed zones of South Asia. This Report is the outcome of the efforts of ISET-Nepal, WINROCK India, GEAG (Eastern UP Flood site, India) ,Utthan (Gujarat Coastal),MIDS (TN Coastal), ISET-Pakistan, and ISET-International. Pro-Vention Consortium provided support for publication and IDRC, DFID and NOAA provided support for Field Research.


GEAG, as a counterpart of ISET, is engaged in Eastern Uttar Pradesh under Action Research Process in enhancing adaptive Capacity of people to make their livelihood more resilient in changing climate scenario.
