Women Food Security Climate Change Training Programme
 

Women Food Security and Climate Change’ programme’s first 6 days training was organized in Campierganj block, Gorakhpur district on 18-23 April, 2011.

The 2nd phase of training on Women food security and Climate Change was organized at Ullon, Kolkata from 22 – 24 September 2011. In this training programme, 30 participants of 15 organizations from four different states (Uttar Pradsh, Uttrakhand, Bihar and West Bengal) participated. Mr Ardendu Chaterjee (Expert on Climate Change and Agriculture) was the main trainer. The objective of the training programme was to chalk out the remedial measures for problems encountered during the implementation of the programme after the first phase of training. In three days training programme, one whole day was devoted to comprehend the practical problem of participants while implementing climate resilient agriculture. The solutions of problems were understood through field observation. In this training programme, it was also deliberated to give due emphasis on campaigning, advocacy and networking issues in the forthcoming phase. Ms Rucha Chitnis (Country Director) of Women Earth Alliance, USA was also present in the training programme. The forthcoming and final phase of the training programme is scheduled in November 2011.
