From Risk to Resilience (Supported by ISET and DfID)

Under the aegis of a large and innovative project of assessing the Cost and Benefits of proactive disaster risk management to meet the needs of vulnerable communities in South Asia, the project is being implemented in Gorakhpur and Maharajganj. The strategy adopted is developing, applying and evaluating proactive disaster risk management strategies including risk reduction and risk transfer in disaster-prone developing countries. Vulnerability assessment has been done through dialogue with stakeholders, village meetings, workshops at village, block, district and state level with Donors, Government, NGOs and independent consultants. WINROCK International India, IIASA (International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis, Austria) are some renowned organisation helping GEAG in this CBA exercise through developing methodology and statistical  analysis.
