Urban community based ward level micro resilience planning

Planning is now seen as shaping the place where people work and live. The involvement of community is thus seen as vitally important to planning and achievement of sustainable development.  Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group under the process of Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN) has adopted a ward               (Mahewa) of Gorakhpur city and initiated a grass root level participatory planning (bottom-up approach) with the support of Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation( GMC) and other allied governmental agencies to build adaptive and resilience capacity of people of the ward and demonstrate a guidelines of micro resilience planning to the planner and policy makers for the area exposed to climate and hydro meteorological risks.
